The boy's mom and godmother said they were getting into the car after playing at the park when he walked into the street, where he was hit by two separate vehicles.
First, the boy was hit by a blue SUV traveling south on 33rd Street, who then fled the scene. Right after that, a white truck also traveling south on 33rd Street hit the boy and also fled.

“It was literally like a loud boom. I’m looking and I’m thinking the car hit another car at first," said Daisy Colon, the boy's godmother. "But then I look up and I see the car running over Kayden.”
The boy was taken to CHOP, where he was listed in stable condition with scratches and bruises to the head and face, police said.
"So this two-year-old little boy is extremely lucky because he was conscious and he's in stable condition and right now he has scratches and bruises to his head and face," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The boy's mother, Dachanell Ross Bryant, said her son has no broken bones or brain damage, but is traumatized by the incident.
“My child is traumatized. He is scared. He never got hit by a car- ever. My child is very, very scared. Right now," she told NBC10.
Colon said she was there at the time of the hit-and-run and is also traumatized by the incident.
"As a human being, a grown adult, how could you hit -- forget a child -- a baby. An actual baby. He is so small he is so fragile I just can’t believe it," Colon said.
Police are treating the incident as one hit-and-run with two vehicles and are hoping an investigation finds the two drivers involved.
On Friday, police released a photo of the blue SUV suspected of hitting the boy and say it was last seen in the area of 32nd and Diamond streets.

"I’m happy that he’s alive. I’m so happy that my child is alive and that he is okay," Bryant said. "All I need is for you all to keep my child in prayers right now.”
“Turn yourself in. Imagine if it was your kid," Bryant added.
